Winter wonderland and a new blog location

Hey all,

I am back to leave you the elements to my Winter Wonderland Kit. I am still not totally happy with them, but - I guess my creative mojo was blocked for this kit. I am going to try to re-focus for a new year kit. I am open to color ideas. So if you would like, leave me some color combos and I can see what I can create. Sometimes it is the color that calls and then the theme.

I have been very busy trying to finish Christmas shopping, as I am sure many of you have. I am also working on some digiscrap things for family. I am doing calendars for my 2 sisters and my brother. A bit of work, but I think they will like them. They are all getting the same layout, just different photos. I am also working on a couple of brag books. It seems like it should be so easy, but the thing that takes the most is getting the pictures right. I spend soooo much time looking for the PERFECT photo - a small case of OCD I think.

I am also working on switching to wordpress for my blog. I have some difficulties getting my blogger blog to look right, so for a time I will "try" to mirror this blog on my new one - which you can find here: http://mydigitalfunplace.wordpress.com/ Now for the fun part - click on the previews to download. Leave some love!

Winter Wonderland Papers

I hope you enjoyed the quick pages I made for the December ADSD blog train. I will be starting on the kit for the January train soon. Let's hope I remember to sign on to the blog roll.

Today is December 4th, only 21 days until Christmas. I can't believe it. I have sooo much to do and sooo little time. Anyone else feel that way. Despite hearing Christmas carols since Nov 1st, I still do not have the Christmas spirit. Hmph - I'll have to work on that.

I have this idea to create my family Christmas card in the form of a calendar card like this

It would tri-fold down to the size of a regular card. I thought it might be neat for people to have something they could hang all year. That is where my concern is. I want it to be a Christmas card, but I want it to be able to hang all year, so I may have to change the elements around a bit...

Let me know what you think. I might also make one as a quick page. The only thing is you would need to be able to print at 15 - 16" long or shrink it to fit 11" paper. More thinking to do...

Ok, I am really here to finally post the papers for the Winter Wonderland Kit. I have procrastinated something awful. I hope you find many uses for them.

As usual, click on the preview to download. Let me know what you think!

ADSD Holidays at Home Blog Train

I am not sure where the time goes. It seems like yesterday I posted my Winter Wonderland QPs and I was coming right back to post the papers. Well as you know, that did not occur and somehow it is already December. I will get them posted soon.

I hope eveyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Always a favorite holiday of mine. Nothing to do but cook, eat and visit with family and friends. What could be better. Now onto the business of the day...

I am again participating in the ADSD freebie blog train and here is my contribution:

Please visit the rest of the designers below. They have all worked hard to freebies for everyone to enjoy. I didn't make the list (again where did the time go???) but spread the word about the freebies and send people here. The Quick Pages are made in part with my kit Cottage Christmas which I posted previously. I also used graphics from the designer I mentioned in my previous post. See how nice they are. Click on the previews to download. Enjoy and leave some love!

Winter Wonderland

Ok - I have been away for a while working on my new kit. I like the colors. I am having trouble with designing the elements. So the work goes on. I made some quickpages so you can get an idea.

I discovered a new store that I like to visit called Digi Web Studios. They have some talented designers there and their prices are very reasonable. Very country like. I love the fall and winter elements they have. I plan to incorporate some in my designs. Go take a look for yourself.

Click here to download all 6 qps.

Enjoy - I will post the papers next. I am still working the elements, but at least this is a start.

A Favorite Designer is back and a Christmas Break

Hi, I hope everyone enjoyed the last QP. I still have the Christmas cards to post. I promise I will do that soon. I got a little detoured by discovering the return of a favorite independent designer of mine. I was so excited that she is back designing that I had to design a couple of quick pages with her kits. She sells her stuff via a membership which I believe is well worth it. She also gives freebies away as well. She currently has one on her site Nana's Attic. Please visit her blog and take a look around. You won't be disappointed.

Here are the quick pages I made. The first 2 qps were made with her Fresh Start Kit and are in one zip file. The second 2 qps were made with her End of Summer Kit and are also in one zip file. Click on either preview of each group to download. Enjoy!

Cottage Christmas

I am back. I did not forget about my Christmas kit. I got tied up with the After Dark Blog Train. I hope you were able to snag some nice freebies. I like blog trains. They give you the opportunity to showcase your work without the pressure that stores have. Don't get me wrong, I love stores, I shop them all the time, but my stuff just isn't in the same ball park, but yet here, I feel good about it.

Anyway - Election day has passed and change is in the air, hopefully for the better. So in that same spirit I have been working on some Christmas card quick pages. I would like to have 6 done when I post, so I have 2 still to complete, so keep your eye here.

But for today, here is the other 12x12 QP I made. Enjoy!

Last Day of National Digital Scrapbooking

Corrected the link to the 1st QP. Sorry about that.

I hope everyone enjoyed the festivities at many of the scrapbook communities this weekend. I know I did. If I could just spend my entire day scrapbooking, I would be one happy camper. Alas, real life has other ideas.

As promised I am back with a couple more quick pages and a page kit. I used pieces from Kalo Designs for my last quick page. Go to her blog to grab the papers for yourself.

Enjoy!

Happy National Digital Scrapbook Day

It has been about a year since I really started to digital scrapbook. I remember visiting many blogs and scrapbook communities last year on this day. I think I've come a ways since then.

This year I am participating in a blog train with a group from ADS. The kit is called After Dusk. I made some papers as well and I will try to get them posted later today, but for those early birds I wanted to make sure I had something out here.

I designed a quick page which you can get by clicking the preview.

here is my layout using the qp:

Freebie Part 3

Hello all,

First off, thanks to those who have left me comments. They are greatly appreciated. It is always nice to know that people are enjoying your work. Sorry I took so long to get back with the final element freebie. I was having a computer issue the other night and nothing wanted to cooperate. But have no fear, I am here to do just that, but first a layout from my apple cider kit.

This layout is about losing the family home. Different than some who may be caught in the current mortgage crisis, this is my childhood home, and now that both of my parents are deceased it goes to the bank. My parents had a reverse mortgage on the house. So while I am lucky as I have my own home, it is still hard to see the house I grew up in and the only home my parents ever had, leave the family. We had so many good times in that house. When I moved out on my own it was always a place I could go back to. Every time I walked through that door I knew I was home. But as the saying goes - Home is where the heart is...

Ok so you have waited patiently - here are the elements...

Hope you enjoy. Make sure to come back - I am working on a couple of quick pages. I will also be reposting these as part of the ADS blog train in December.

Early Christmas Freebie Part 2

Hi Everyone,

I was glad to see that digifree picked me back up. Though the service is still acting weird, because I am not getting notification that they have. No biggie. At least you all can find me now.

I hope you liked the papers, I know a couple of you did, as you said so. Thank you for the comments. Always good to hear. I really enjoyed working with this color combo. A little bit different than the normal Christmas colors. Please link back here if you use them in your layouts. I would love to see my kits used in layouts other than my own.

Okay - enough chatting - here is your freebie. I know this doesn't look too thrilling, but I realized the paper download was a beast. So I have split up the elements into a more reasonable format. So this download is just ribbons and bows. But check back, I will be posting the other elements in the next day or two and since I am still working with these colors, this kit could go on and on...

All comments read and appreciated. If you read my blog, you know how to get this - click the preview. Enjoy!

Early Christmas

For some reason I am done with autumn scrapbooking. Seems as though I have been using autumn colors since August. I am ready to move on.

I have decided to use this color pallet for my next kit.

I like these colors together. I have been creating all kinds of things. I decided to post it differently this time. The fall kit I did, was not picked up by digifree. I am not sure what the problem is, but I was disappointed. As a result, I am going to post the parts of this kit seperately.

Sooo I am posting the papers today. If you like them, check back, I will be posting the other pieces soon. Love to hear from you if you like it. Also, if you have made layouts using my kits, I would love to know about it. I will be glad to post them here.

Fall Freebie

I tried my hand again at creating a kit. I do find it relaxing. I like the colors of this kit. I purchased a set of swatches from digiapedesigns. The holiday pallet has great color combinations. This one is called apple cider. I really like the rich fall colors. I designed a couple of tags for this kit. I had fun doing them. I may try my hand at a few more, stay tuned.

Well I am going to go finish getting supper ready - I have a baseball game to watch tonight. I hope everyone enjoys the freebie. Leave some love!

Been a While...

Busy, Busy, Busy and Digi Stores

I haven't been on in quite a while. I have been very very busy with work and things. I have managed to find time to do some layouts, you can check them out at http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/. I really like this site. I have even tried to become a Supreme Team Member, but I think it is kind of like school - they have cliques. Still the challenges definitely inspire.

While reading some of my favorite blogs, I came across Sweet Shoppe Designs, I love it. There is a designer there that does blog layouts. She is to be thanked for the updated layout I now have here. I also discovered it was another place to find Misty Cato. I really love her stuff. Stocked up on some. The designer that I have to thank for my blog update is Zoe Pearn. She has some real nice stuff. She also partners with others to create some fabulous kits. Go to the shop and check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Charity Starts at Home

My family and I did a walk for Hopice at the end of September. They were instrumental in allowing my Mom to be home in the end. So to thank them, we walk and raise money. This year it was a little wet... but still worth it. Here is a layout that I did of the group from the walk.

This was our 2nd year walking. We raised about $3800.00. Less than last year, but still ok.

Our goal is to do this every year, as long as we are still around. A local paper wrote an article about my family and our walk. You can find it here.

The Economy

So who out there is worried? I have a small pension fund that lost 1/4 of its value when I checked it last at the end of September. I am not sure it even exists anymore. I am thankful that my husband and I are still employed. But with 2 kids approaching college in the next couple of years, there are worries.

Well I must go for now. I will check back this weekend and post a freebie I have been working on. Again thanks to Zoe for my new blog layout.

Water Fun QP Freebie

Hi Everyone. I hope you are enjoying the last few days of summer. It is hard to believe that school starts in 2 weeks. The summer absolutely flew by. I haven't even done any school shopping. Agh!

I did make another QP from a layout I did of my trip. Hope you like it. If you do please let me know here. I have noticed that my freebie downloads have decrease quite a bit since digifree went to the new format. I think some people do not go beyond the first few pages. So if you could, let me know if you download. As always - click on preview to download.

Thanks,

Michelle

Freebie Time - Finally

I know I mentioned I was back, but I did not imagine that it would take me so long to catch up. I also have way too many photos to scrap. I have spent days going thru them and writing down my memories of them - so I don't forget by the time I get to them.
This one is of all of us in Marseille France. I made a QP of the layout for you to enjoy. I also did this for a color challenge at GoDigitalScrapbooking.com. For personal use only. Click on the preview to download. Enjoy!

Home Again

Finally back from our trip to the Mediterranean. It was a beautiful place to visit. I would have to say that Italy was my favorite country to visit. The country itself is very tourist friendly. Of course I need not mention the food.

We took a tour of the Isle of Capri, what a beautiful island. I will say that the drivers are crazy. Their roads are about wide enough to fit 2 smaller sized cars side by side, yet they drive these mid size tour buses up this mountain on the island. The only thing between you and falling of the side is a stone wall. Quite scary.

Rome was a favorite spot for my kids. They loved seeing the coloseum. My favorite was Venice. It is a beautiful "city". Of course it is a bunch of islands technically... I like the fact that there are no cars. You get around by commuter boat. They have boat stops, much more interesting than bus stops, don't you think?

Here is a layout I did from two of my favorite photos.
I hope to be back to designing freebies in the next day or so. In the mean time - good to be back!

MIA - Freebie

I have been missing in action... Besides getting ready for our annual 4th of July party I have been getting ready for our big trip. It is about 8 days away. Can't wait.

In the process of preparing for July 4th I am tring to make a family cookbook to give to guests. I gathered a bunch of family recipes after my Mom died. Always with the intention of sharing among family. So, I spent a lot of yesterday copying them to a recipe template I made.

I am sharing the 4x6 recipe card here with you as a QP of sorts.

Enjoy. Personal Use only.

Rainy Monday

Today was a rainy Monday. Rain and Mondays are never a good combination. How much do we like Mondays on a good day, on a rainy day, you just want to roll over and go back to sleep for like the whole day.

Instead I spent almost the whole day working on 2 layouts. The first one took some time because I was not feeling inspired. Eventually, it came together. I hope you like it.

As always - click on the preview to download. I do have both these layouts available in template form. Let me know if you are interested.

2 Freebie Quick Pages

I have been working on a couple of QPs for Scrapbook Graphics. I hope you enjoy them. The challenge was brown and pink. Personal Use Only... Click on preview to download.

A template for you...

I had a qp I wanted to upload today, but apparently my computer does not want to cooperate. I can't seem to find any of the things I worked on today and when I go to recent documents they show up there, but Windows can't locate them. I don't think that is good news. I worked on several projects and layouts today, so I am a little upset by this. I have a feeling it has something to do with the drive I save my files to.

Anyway, not to let you all down, I did come across a template that my son designed on paper and I made in photoshop a while ago. I hope you like it.

Click on the preview to download. Personal use only.

Thanks!

Oh - it's Monday

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. It was nice here on Saturday. Sunday, not so much. We had fun though. We went out to brunch at the Top of the Hub in Boston. The view is awesome, even on a cloudy day. I have to go back when it is clear.

Well I have not done anything new as my son's baseball team is in the playoffs. So, my free time is a little on the short side. I did come across a qp I did for a challenge a couple of weeks ago. I hope you like it. Fits in with the playoff theme.
