Last Day of National Digital Scrapbooking

Corrected the link to the 1st QP. Sorry about that.

I hope everyone enjoyed the festivities at many of the scrapbook communities this weekend. I know I did. If I could just spend my entire day scrapbooking, I would be one happy camper. Alas, real life has other ideas.

As promised I am back with a couple more quick pages and a page kit. I used pieces from Kalo Designs for my last quick page. Go to her blog to grab the papers for yourself.

Enjoy!

Cottage Christmas Continued...

I am sorry I took so long to get back. I had a busy weekend. I did create some additional papers for the kit. I will post them later. Remember to check back here on November 1st for the start of a blog train I am participating in. I promise there will be a lot of freebies!

For now - enjoy the qp I made. You know what to do...

Freebie Time - Finally

I know I mentioned I was back, but I did not imagine that it would take me so long to catch up. I also have way too many photos to scrap. I have spent days going thru them and writing down my memories of them - so I don't forget by the time I get to them.
This one is of all of us in Marseille France. I made a QP of the layout for you to enjoy. I also did this for a color challenge at GoDigitalScrapbooking.com. For personal use only. Click on the preview to download. Enjoy!

Tomorrow is Father's Day

Ahhh - tomorrow is Father's Day. A day I might add, I have not been looking forward to. You see this is the first year that I wil not have my Dad here to celebrate with. I didn't think it would be so hard. But as the day has approached I have found myself getting very sad.

You see I lost both of my parents within a 13 month period. My Mom died in September 2006 after a very brief battle with cancer. Then my Dad died from some sort of a heart incident, 13 months later. I could say he died of a broken heart. He was never quite the same after my Mom died.

The one issue I have is that we knew my Mom was dying, we were told as much. Therefore we made sure to spend as much time with her as we possibly could. We all spent time saying good-bye. She left knowing exactly how much we all cared.

My Dad was much more of a surprise, we did not have the same benefit of letting him know. Though I know in my heart he knew, I still wish I had one last chance to tell him. One last chance to thank him. It is a place in my heart that will never be fulfilled.

So my message to you all on this Father's Day - If your Dad is still here, give him a hug and kiss, and let him know how much you love him. You never know when it might be the last chance you get. This picture was taken 2 days before he was hospitalized. We, my sibling's and I, an Aunt and cousin, and all of our children, walked for the Hospice of the North Shore program. This was done in honor of my Mother, and in thanks to the people who took such good care of her. We raised about $5000.00. It was a great day, and in that way I think of it as my Father's swan song. We were all there, with him, honoring my Mom. This was the last time that many of us talked to my Dad and he could respond to us. Almost 3 weeks later, he would die after spending 2 1/2 weeks in a non-responsive state. I miss him terribly.

OK - I had to get that off my chest. It does help to write my feelings here. I hope I did not depress anyone too much.

I have a quick page that I created. I have posted the papers that match on my other blog http://blackcatgraphicsolutions.blogspot.com/, but I will put the link to the QP here.

Please leave a note if you download. I like hearing that people like my stuff. Thanks, I hope you enjoy.

Checking in

I am just checking in quickly to leave another freebie. It is a quickpage I did. The word art is Words to live by - by Doris Castle.

The preview is a picture of my 2 nephews getting ready to jump in my pool. We had such nice weather over Memorial Day weekend. I still wouldn't get in that water though. The temperature was only 55 degrees. But kids - apparently feel nothing.

I must run for now, I have jury duty and you must not be late for that. Hopefully I won't get picked.

Click on preview to download - don't forget the love.
